Dr. Md. ATHAR ALI,
Director BSD
B.Sc, MBA, PhD
Dr. Ali has an enriching experience in both academics and corporate for over 18 years and is deeply involved in the subjects of Corporate finance, Financial services and Economics. He started his career in a NBFC and worked for two years as a senior manager. During this duration he supervised and evaluated financial feasibility of various projects for the organization. He then moved on academics and since last 16 years he has been associated with various management institutes in Delhi and NCR. Prior to joining BSD, Dr. Ali with his four team members set up a world class management institute, K.R. Mangalam Global Institute of Management (KGIM) in New Delhi in 2007. He established the system for the institute and managed the entire operations of academics and administration during his stay as Dean. His area of interest includes risk management in banks and emerging role financial intermediaries in new globalised economy. |

Despite the news of slowdown in various part of the world, Indian economy continues to outperform the world economy and India has become world’s one of the most favorite investment destination. As per one assessment India might become the world’s third largest economy in 2011 by overtaking Japan in terms of GDP measured according to the purchasing power parity. With the growth rate of more than 8% in GDP, a lot of new challenges and opportunities are expected to come and this needs massive investment in intellectual capital to support the changing needs.
BSD since its inception has striven hard to become the school which nurtures business leadership and meets the expectation of rapid changes taking place in the industrial, financial and commercial world. Management and faculty members of BSD have accepted the new challenges and have evolved a unique curriculum by taking a right mix of inputs from academia and corporate world. The idea is to impart not only domain knowledge but also other skill sets such as critical thinking, problem solving, brain storming and decision making, relevant to train the young aspiring professionals from our country and from abroad. Frequent corporate interactions and corporate based projects undertaken by students under the guidance with faculty members further equipped the students to understand and handle the dynamics of corporate needs.
We at BSD strongly believe that discussion mode of teaching in relaxed academic environment is the most effective way of learning. We promote among our students, the sense of inquiring and questioning. This gives them a unique position and creates a vibrant environment where they can learn the mantras of success in corporate as well as individual world in a very interesting way.
